FamilyHello, the guy in the back is me and I want to share with you the reason why I came a chiropractor.

When I was a child of 12 years old, I had been diagnosed with what most people call scoliosis (curved spine).  My doctor had told my parents that I would need to wear a back brace for 23 hours a day for several months.  Even with that, there was no guarantee that the curvature in my spine would be corrected.  Boy was that overwhelming.

A neighbor of ours found out about may condition, and talked to my parents about taking an alternate route.  They had a hard time convincing my parents to try something else.  We went to see this new doctor, and he started intensely treating my spine for about 9 months.  And guess what? No back brace was needed.  After having this doctor help me, I gained a new way of life.  The doctor soon became my mentor and friend.

In watching this doctor treat his patients, and seeing their recovery of a wide variety of symptoms, it became a passion of mine to help others just like he helped me.  Oh, did I forget to mention that this doctor is a chiropractor? I soon learned there was so much more to it than just back and neck pain.  It was most definitely an eye opening experience; helping people without drugs and/or surgery.

The young lady in front of me is my daughter Hannah, who is 9 years old.  She has many loves of life, including reading, soccer, and of course, dolls.  Spending time with her is a complete joy.  With my knowledge of chiropractic care, I was able to help Hannah with her sinus problems.

The little boy in the middle is my son Zachary.  He is 7 and is excited about second grade.  I found out with Zachary that the adjustments I gave him helped out with a bed wetting problem and with headaches.  He just started riding on my motorcycle with me, which he loves.

I know that my love of chiropractic care has the ability to change many lives.  I want to be able to help my children have a healthy childhood, in just the way that my mentor was able to give that gift to me.  I have been able to give that to my children, as well as to many other people.

I don’t treat or cure diseases.  Here’s how it works.  I make a specific spinal adjustment to assist the nervous system to function better. It’s your body that does the healing.  Many patients have tremendous results.  It’s as simple as that.

According to USA TODAY, in 2005, 46.6 million Americans no longer had health insurance, and employers are requiring employees to contribute more in cost-sharing.  That’s where I come in.  I have a significantly lower fee so that more people are able to afford the care they need, with or without health insurance.  A whole week of care in my office costs what you could pay for one visit elsewhere.  In a study done by Dr. Ronald Pero, professor of medicine at New York University, it was shown that people under chiropractic care for 5 years or more had double the immune capacity of people who hadn’t received chiropractic care.  This was done naturally and without drugs.  The immune system fights colds, flus, and other sicknesses.  So you may not be running off to the doctor as much.  Studies from Senate Report 108-081 show that people actually pay less for their long-term overall health care expenses if they are seeing a chiropractor.

Here are some of my qualifications…I graduated from Logan College of Chiropractic with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Human Biology as well as a Doctor of Chiropractic.  That same trimester, I was awarded the Student Doctor Award.  I belong to the American Chiropractic Association and the Kansas Chiropractic Association. I have been in practice in Ottawa for about 5 years now and opened a new location in Olathe about 2 years ago.
